A lovely day

As the title suggests we all had a lovely day yesterday (Saturday).

Had a lie in so got up around 8am and played with Oliver for a bit while the hubby finished the decorating in Oliver's new big boy room. We've decided to go with a red and blue theme as this matches his Thomas Tank Engine Furniture (book shelf and toy box). Even though we have a almost brand new single bed from when we first moved in (it was a guest bed which was never used) we are now thinking of getting him a Thomas toddler bed to finish off the Thomas theme but we don't want it to look like Thomas threw up in there!

Didn't take hubby too long to finish up as only had a bit of in-fill to do so once that was done we all had a jacket potato lunch then he went back up and painted the radiator and it was done. Took Oliver up to see the room and he really seem to like it so we put up his Thomas poster that he got for Xmas and told him he'll be in the room very soon. We want him to go in there as soon as possible as with baby coming we don't want him to feel like the baby is kicking him out of his room, thats not the case at all, he's the eldest so he gets the 2nd biggest room (after ours) thats how its always worked in our family.

We went to the carpet shop in the afternoon and ordered for his red carpet to be fitted next Saturday so Oliver should be moved into his new room by the end of next week. We haven't got his Thomas bed yet but he can use the Cot Bed until we get it as there's no rush (we've spent enough this month!).

While we were in the Carpet shop we also arranged for some new Vinyl to be fitted in the bathroom so all thats left to do in our house is to decorate our bedroom and get a new carpet in there then the whole house has been decorated within the last year. We'll probably start again soon though as we are already considering taking up some of the lounge/dining room carpet and replacing it with laminate so there is a clear split between  the living and dining area.

The day just kept getting better as the rest of the afternoon we all played lego and Oliver baked us a cake (not a real one of course, he has a play kitchen). Once Oliver was bathed and in bed Mike and I had a Scene It competition on the Xbox, I lost the first 2 games and finally won the last one! Hubby enjoyed a bottle of wine while I drank some Cherry Coke and munched on salt and vinegar sticks. I'm enjoying snacking while it lasts because in 9 weeks I'm going to  be straight on the Slimming World diet - I want to be a yummy mummy. The exercise part is sorted as I'll be walking Oliver to nursery every afternoon which with a pushchair and a toddler on a buggy board you are looking at least 20 mins each way with one way being mostly up hill.

Looking forward to tomorrow - nanna and grandad are coming round for a cup of tea and its just going to be a nice family day except I have decided I WILL be tackling our bedroom - needs a good clean after all the decoration its been used as a dumping ground.

:-)
