First Holiday

On Monday or Tuesday last week we decided we had finally had enough of the daily grind and fancied a weekend away so we did just that. I booked a weekend in SkegVegas and we had a lovely time. We have not been there in the (near on) 8 years we have been together so we thought it might have changed for the better and to be honest we didn't care if it hadn't as we had booked in to a Park Resort so everything we could want/need was on site anyway. We had a really nice time but lets rewind a sec.

Last weekend we went to check on our caravan which is in storage and put in a damp buster, yes that's right our first caravan has caravan cancer and we were trying to preserve it as long as we could. When we got there we saw another caravan and it was for sale. Only 2 years younger than ours but in very good condition and at just the right weight for our car, its fate (don't believe in fate btw). Anyway, we took a look around and loved it, we used a machine that detects damp and it had none, called my dad to check it and he gave it the thumbs up so after some haggling that got me nowhere and sleeping on it we decided to go for it. Our old caravan is going to caravan heaven (split and sold for scrap!) and we decided to road test the new one, hence the trip to SkegVegas.

The best thing about the holiday was seeing Oliver come out of his shell and both nights he went to the front of the dance floor near the stage to watch and take part in the party dances. I also found that it wasn't that difficult with the breastfeeding either, as long as we timed it right I could find somewhere to feed little Maximoo. Fantasy Island had feeding facilities however no lock on the door? and the club in the night time had a baby room but no chair. I have fed it back though so hopefully they'll rectify that.

The drive back was the worst ever. Got to 17 mins from where we store the caravan (as per the sat nav) and Max wanted a feed so we pulled over in a lay-by and fed him however 5 mins later we found the main road to the storage place was shut. We went round which took 45 mins only to find the other approach to the road closed too. We were getting low on fuel so the only thing we could do was call the police so I did just that and they agreed to let us through. 3 and a half hours of a journey that should've take 2 hours!

Today is the hottest day of the year so far and Max has slept through more of less all of it, really hope he sleeps tonight!.
